About Me

Hello! I’m Alex Weir, a Computer Engineering student at Liberty University (graduating May 2028, Honors) with minors in Computer Science and Mathematics.
I’m very enthusiastic about hardware engineering, digital logic, and RF. Currently, I am a Network Engineering Intern at L3Harris Technologies, where I work with SDRs and a host of protocols on all layers. Previously, I worked as a Mechanical Engineering Intern at Valmet, developing automated CAD pipelines and designing components for recovery boilers.
I am President of Liberty SEARCH, a student organization dedicated to amateur radio, signals exploitation, and antenna/RF design. I am a ham (NA4CZ) with my Amateur Extra license, and I also hold the FCC GROL with Radar Endorsement and GMDSS Radio Operator/Maintainer (DB) commercial licenses.
I previously served as a Linux Administrator on Liberty’s CCDC cybersecurity team and as System Administrator for the High-Performance Computing Club.
